With his idiosyncratic collages and wild color schemes Lucas Chauvet stands like no other for the new lust for experiment of the young Israeli art scene. Paintings, sculptures and the unusual assemblages of Chauvet let the pristine expression of indigenous mythology colide with the glaring presence of the Middle East. Like no other Israeli artist Chauvet make his uncutted roots to his very own unique style.

Lucas Chauvet born in 1983 in Cordoba Argentina, the scholar of a famous jesuit school was confronted very early with both, European art traditions and the culture of Quilmes and Guarani people. Already in early sketches and paintings he began to mix extremely contradictory traditions. As the grandson of the painter Gregorio Dujovny he was already familiar as a boy with the confrontation of South American saber sobrevivir with the modern tecnology art.    Elite school, favela, gang life, art and intelectuality: The intoxicating accumulation of contrasts is a stylistic device for him. what counts for Chauvet, is the snapshot in perisheble materials, expression of an early awarenes of the transience. In his paintings and sculptures, the expresive coloring of Nolde and Jawlensky bang into the spontaneity of the ready-mades of Marcel Duchamp and the assemblages of Rouschenberg: an exciting encounter, whose varietes have no end for Chauvet.
Lucas Chauvet 2008 emigrated to israel, where worked among others with Menashe Kadishman. He lives in Tel Aviv.                                       -Text by Winfried Schumacher, German Journalist.

"Chauvet has seen the world from the top and the button, from the citadels of his rigid jesuit boy school and the dirty dumps of suburban favelas, from the sanctuary of a well-to-do family, and the unknown of a new country; he has been a thousand times a stranger, and calls almost as many places his home. But wherever his has been, whatever he did, his eyes were clearly wide open – and now he opens those of the audience". -Text by Sarah Stricker, German Author and journalist.

"Lucas Chauvet is an artist coming to us from a different world. His perspective on color, beauty and imagination is skewed to that of the average man. Know for his unique style, Chauvet's art is capable of evoking emotions that can't easily be pinned down. His perspective and worldly outlook impact his work, creating a highly original viewing experience". -Text by The Culture Trip, Internet cultural magazine, 2015.

"Chauvet's work has life and movement on the wall with a unique style that breaks what is usual..."  -Text Published in Mako Culture Israel.
